I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
